Look for the DeskCover/ColorCover 1.1 stack if you don't need all of the functions of ColorCover 2.0, or if you need compatibility with HC 2.0.

ColorCover hides the desktop while a HyperCard stack in which it is installed is running.
The easiest way to use this stack is to go to the "Easy" card. Once you get there, click the "Easy Install" button. You will be prompted to select a copy of a stack in which to install ColorCover, its supporting resources and the necessary scripts. Whenever you are working with resources, you should work with copies of your stacks. If the power goes out while the work is being done, your stack could be ruined! After the resources have been installed, you will be transferred to the target stack. A palette displaying the standard 256 system colors will appear. Click on the color that you would like for your backdrop. Another dialog will appear containing all of the information that will be passed to the ColorCover XCMD. This is a convenience for advanced users who may wish to change the information. If you want to know more about the optional arguments that can be passed to ColorCover, see the "Expert" card in the ColorCover stack. For now, just click the "OK" button. The backdrop will instantly change to the color that you selected. From now on, a moment after your stack opens, the colored backdrop will appear. If you change your mind about the color, just click another color in the palette. If you clicked the close box of the color palette, or if you wish to change the color at another time, just type "ChooseCover p" in the message box, and the palette will appear (note: "ChooseCover p", not "ColorCover p"). A button is also provided to remove the XCMD.
Other information:
There are rare cases where calling ColorCover and then immediately calling another XCMD that does something to the screen can turn the card window white. When the second XCMD exits, the card window finishes its redraw and assumes its normal appearance. If you experience this problem, introduce a wait of at least 5 ticks after calling ColorCover. This allows the card window to complete its redraw.
